Age 94
Etobicoke, Ontario
Turner & Porter Butler Chapel

Rosemary Best (née Sagar) passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on December 22, 1931, to Mary Alice Bird and Horace Dixon Sagar. Rosemary was the beloved wife of 59 years of the late Beverly Arthur Best and a devoted mother to Lou-Ann Best and Mary-Kae Vranesic (Paul). She was a cherished Nana to Daniel, Nicholas, and Alexandra Kablarevic, and Kathleen Vranesic. Rosemary was predeceased by her sisters, Joan and Margaret, and her brother, Jimmy. From a young age, Rosemary was deeply committed to her faith. She studied Theology at Wycliff College, University of Toronto, graduating in 1955. She was dedicated to her church community and worked with youth at the YWCA, where she met Bev, the love of her life. They settled in Etobicoke, where they raised their two daughters in a close-knit, friendly neighbourhood. She is central to many enjoyable memories made with family and friends, both at the family cottage on Lake of Bays and their travels around the world. Rosemary will be remembered for her kindness, spirited personality, and devotion to her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel on March 11th, from 4-8 p.m. The funeral will take place on March 12th, at 3 p.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Sleeping Children Around The World or a charity of your choice would be very much appreciated.
