Lois Van Gerven (Drake)
Lois Van Gerven (Drake) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Gateway Haven LTC, Wiarton, at the age of 91. She was the beloved mother of Harvey (Judy) Drake of Belle Vallée, Keith (Beth) Drake of Iron Bridge, Gwen (Frank) Tomlin from Didsbury, AB, Reg (Daniela) Drake of Waterloo, Joy Caudle of Meaford; and step-mother of Hans (Jackie) van Gerven of Sauble Beach. Lois was cherished by her grandchildren Matthew, Laura Anne, Eric; Craig, Carmen, Amy, Sam; Nathanial, Aaron; Jeffrey, Wesley, Kaite, Matt; Ben, Dawn, Keegan; John, and her 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John van Gerven (2013), her first husband W. Albert Drake (2003), parents Samuel and Annie Short (nee Kirk), and sisters Gwen, Helen and Frances. Visitation will take place from 1 - 1:45 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. A reception will follow. Family interment in Elmira Union Cemetery. Donations to Heart and Stroke, or Asthma Canada would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
