Gerard Francis KIELY

Gerard Francis Kiely passed away on May 1, 2026, at the age of 77, surrounded by his family at St. Peter's Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lynn (McWhirter) for 48 years. Gerry was a devoted and loving father to Aileen (John), Shelagh (Duncan), Marc (Gillian), Danny (Sofia), and Siobhan. He was a proud and much-loved grandad to Jeremy, Brayden, Owen, Hayleigh, Julia, Gus, Ellie, Donnie, Gracie, Thomas, Joe, and Zoe. He was the cherished son of the late Desmond and Mary Kiely. He will be missed by his brother Sean (Karen) and his adoring sister Rita (Andy) in England. He was predeceased by his dear siblings Moira (John), Michael (Margaret), John David, and John Peter. Gerry began his career as an elementary teacher with the HWCDSB and later served as a computer resource teacher and consultant. He was well-known as 'the computer guy' and was an innovator and always ready to help others with his expertise. A funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine's Church on Thursday, May 7th, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception at noon in the hall. Memorial donations to St. Vincent-de-Paul at St. Augustine's Parish or to Margaret's Place Hospice in Dundas would be appreciated by the family.
