Danute GUTAUSKAS
Danute 'Dana' (Antanaitis) Gutauskas passed away on February 2, 2026, at the age of 101. Born on February 23, 1924, in Panevežys, Lithuania, she married Liudas in 1947 and emigrated to Canada in 1949. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she taught Grade 1 in Burlington for 22 years after completing teacher's college at 43. She was a leader in the Lithuanian-Canadian scouting community and dedicated her life to caring for her family. Survived by her sons, Andrew and Paul; grandchildren, Ona, Kristina, John, Clara, Vincent, Tiesa, Amanda, Kevin, and Mark; great-grandchildren, Lukas, Jude, Hugh, Brady, Oliver, and Rhys; sisters, Jovita Strikas and Stella Panavas; and nieces/nephews in Canada and the USA. Predeceased by her husband, Liudas. A visitation will be held at Marlatt Funeral Home on February 16th, followed by a funeral mass at Lithuanian Martyrs Parish on February 17th. Interment will be at St. John's Lithuanian Cemetery, with a reception at Anapilis Hall. Donations may be made to the Lithuanian Children's Relief Fund in her memory.
