Barry Erwin GUNBY

Barry Gunby passed away on February 16, 2026, in his 82nd year. He was a beloved husband of 48 years to Betty, a proud father to Shelley, Wendy (Brad), and Karen, and a caring stepfather to Chris (Cyndy), Sandy, and Mandy. Barry was predeceased by his daughter Karen (Jim). He was the youngest of four siblings and is survived by his brother Stuart. Barry was also predeceased by his siblings Joan, Glenn, and Audrey. He was a cherished Poppy to 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Barry made countless memories at the family cottage in Honey Harbour, where he took great happiness in sharing it with those he loved most. He was a gentle giant with a kind soul, a hard worker, and someone always willing to lend a hand. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring, honouring Barry's wishes. The family is grateful for the compassionate care provided during Barry's illness and asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to Carpenter Hospice in Burlington or St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton.
