William "Bill" RAE

William Charles McDonald Rae, known as Bill, passed away on June 30, 2026, at the age of 84 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Marion Elva Rae (née Casselman) and a devoted father to Michael Rae (Dr. Judit Zubovits), Karen Rae Peet (Mark Rae Peet), Christi Rae (Michael Robertson), and Amy Rae (Dr. Jed Whittaker). Bill was a cherished grandfather to Mikaela, Alexandra, Zoë, Aniko, Lela, and Henry. He was predeceased by his parents, Clinton and Dorothy Rae (née McDonald), as well as his sister, Connie Applegate, and brother-in-law, Glenn Applegate. Bill will be remembered for his quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. In accordance with his wishes, his body has been donated to the University of Ottawa for scientific research. Memorial donations may be made to the Lost Villages Museum.
