Douglas Everett Funston

Douglas Everett Funston was born on November 7, 1953, and died on August 1, 2026, at the age of 72. He was predeceased by his sister Marilou. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Funston; his children, Dale, Derek (Emily) and Brittany; his grandson, Isaiah; his siblings, Jeff and Cheri; his siblings‑in‑law, Dawn, John, Ward, Scott and Charles; and his nephews, Mike, Chris, Ashlyn, Kyra, Wesley, Aaron (Grace), Noah (Emily) and Sydney. Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 388 William Street, Cobourg, Ontario. A funeral service followed at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, and burial took place at 2:00 p.m. in Cobourg Union Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the MS Society.
