Lloyd Allen WELTER

Lloyd Allen Welter, aged 82, of China Grove, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on August 11, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Al was the child of Genevieve Welter. He moved to North Carolina with his wife Barbara Anne in 1987 and became a proud resident, often convincing friends to relocate. Al was a self-made individual who purchased McRae Auto Recyclers in 1967, earned his mechanic's license in 1968, and later owned Millbridge Speedway from 1989 to 2014. He also invested in real estate ventures across Rowan County, taking pride in improving properties and fostering growth. Al had a passion for animals and took in misunderstood dogs, rehabilitating and rehoming them. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson.
