Philip James Savage (Phil)
Philip J. Savage passed away on April 27, 2026, at the age of 85. Born and raised in Parry Sound, he grew up on Emily Street and attended Victory School. He developed a lifelong love for the game of hockey early on and spent countless winter hours lacing up his skates to play on the frozen waters of Georgian Bay. As a young adult, Phil moved to St. Catharines, Ontario, where he built a dedicated career with General Motors Canada for 31 years. In his retirement, Phil relocated to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, with his wife, Patricia. Despite his life taking him elsewhere, his heart always belonged to the North. Phil cherished his connection to Parry Sound and later returned for many summer seasons, finding great joy in operating a Park Store and cottages on Oastler Lake. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Savage, his children, James, Nancy, and Steve, stepchildren, Frank, Dan, and Kristen and his grandchildren, whom he adored. He is also survived by his brother, Bob. A celebration of Phil's life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Avery Seca Youth in Sports Foundation, as his love for the game never faded.
