Yvonne (née Brown) LACHINE

Yvonne Lachine, née Brown, passed away on July 10, 2026, at the age of 88, peacefully at her home. Born in Camden Township to the late Earl and Ileene Brown, she was the beloved wife of the late Stewart Lachine, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Yvonne is survived by her children, Debby Overton and her husband Rod, and Ryan Lachine and his wife Amanda, as well as her grandchildren, Alyssa, Kiersten, and Connor Overton. She was predeceased by her son, Brad Lachine, in 2019, and her sisters, Helen Andrews, Hazel Bebington, and Eunice O'Neill, as well as her infant brother, Harold Brown. A dedicated educator, Yvonne graduated from the London Teacher's College in 1956 and taught in a one-room schoolhouse until 1961, later providing private music lessons in her home for 46 years. She was a proud recipient of a 50-year life membership in the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association. In accordance with her wishes, a private family graveside service will be held in Maple Leaf Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to McKinlay Funeral Home.
