Michael Jan Simon Wigcherink

Michael Jan Simon Wigcherink of Chatham, born November 13, 1951, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on March 10, 2026, at the age of 74, with his family by his side. He was the son of Betsy (née Roelofsen) and the late Julian Wigcherink. Michael is survived by his loving children, Michael James (Francesc Fernández Claramunt), Kristina Louise (Barry Darlington), and Nicholas Jan Simon (Samantha Pidcoke). He was a proud and loving Opa to Alyssa Darlington and Ella Darlington. Michael is also survived by his brother, Ray (Mary Gwen Girard), and his sister, Margie Hopkins (née Wigcherink), who was predeceased by her husband, the late John Hopkins. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Michael's Life will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Aristo's Banquet & Catering in Chatham, from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to McKinlay Funeral Home.
