Geraldine Edith (née Garrod) Deneau

Geraldine Edith Deneau (née Garrod) passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the age of 95. She was the beloved wife of the late Alex Deneau, whom she married in 1951. Geraldine is survived by her children, Janet (Ric, deceased) Pollock, Randy (Jessie) Deneau, Greg (Anita) Deneau, and Mark (Janine) Deneau. She was predeceased by her children Bradley Deneau and infant son Matthew Deneau. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brad (Julie) Deneau, Jonathan Pollock (Natalia Flores), Matthew Deneau, Nicole Caldwell, Robert Deneau, Charles Pollock, Joshua (Rhonda) Deneau, and Gregg Deneau, and is a great-grandmother many times over. Geraldine was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Margaret Garrod, and her siblings, Jacqueline (Walter) Walker, Gerald (Marion) Garrod, and Lloyd (Patrica) Garrod. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Gardens for their exceptional care and compassion. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham, on Friday, April 24, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Cremation and a burial service will follow at a later date. Donations in memory of Geraldine would be appreciated for The Pet and Wildlife Rescue or the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
