Evelyn Vande (Rabideau) Velde

Evelyn Vande (Rabideau) Velde of Chatham, Ontario passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born on September 25, 1932. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, George and Marguerite (Rose) Rabideau, her daughter Elizabeth, and her siblings Wilfred, Elmer, Marie, Mildred, Rita, Eleanor, Geraldine, Josephine, Floyd, George Jr., Reginald, Clarice, Marguerite and Gregory. She is survived by her children Cathy (married to Gerry), Charlene (married to Stan), Raymond (married to Barbara), Richard (married to Bonnie), Michele (married to Curtis) and Carolyn (married to Larry); her grandchildren Lyn, Allan (married to Jessie), Tyson (married to Kerrie), Katey (married to Josh), Brian (married to Haley), Chris (married to Tiffany), Bradley (married to Carolanne), Joshua (married to Amanda), Jennifer (married to Dan) and Kyle; as well as sixteen great‑grandchildren and eight great‑great‑grandchildren. Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg, ON. A funeral Mass took place on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Help Church, 422 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg, ON. Memorial contributions may be sent to the St. Andrews Residence in Chatham or to any charitable organization of the family’s choosing.
