Eli Natvik

Eli Natvik of Highgate, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the age of 77, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous journey with dementia. Eli was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Olav Natvik. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Mathis (Satu), Marte, and Mona (Randy). She was a proud grandmother to Matthew (Guro), Maia (Owen), Elina, Anni, and Marya, and a cherished great-grandmother to Solfrid and Ragnar. She will also be deeply missed by her extended family, lifelong friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Born in Frosta, Norway, Eli was the daughter of Sverre and Anni Skogset. She was one of four siblings, and is survived by her brother, Arnstein (Solfrid). She was predeceased by her sisters, Synnøve and Heidi. Throughout her life, Eli carried with her a deep love of family, home, and caring for others. As a respected and beloved midwife, she guided countless families through some of life's most meaningful moments. Over the course of her career, she helped welcome hundreds of babies into the world. The impact she had on others was lasting— so much so that many former clients would later cross paths with her again as friends, caregivers, and members of the community who never forgot her kindness, compassion, and gentle presence. Creative and talented in many ways, Eli found joy in making beautiful things with her hands. She loved knitting, embroidery, toll painting, stained glass, and many other creative pursuits. She also loved gardening, and took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. A homebody at heart, some of her happiest moments were spent gathered around her large dining room table surrounded by family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She loved hosting family dinners and bringing people together. She also shared a love of blues music with Olav, and together, they enjoyed attending concerts.
