Benjamin Douglas "Ben" LAWTON
Benjamin Douglas 'Ben' Lawton, a resident of Pain Court, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the age of 81. He was the son of the late Clarence and Lela (née Johnston) Lawton and cherished son-in-law to the late Vern and Rebecca Jubenville. Ben was the beloved husband of 58 years to Becky Anne Lawton (née Jubenville). He was the loving father to Celeste Lawton (Dave Wood), Ben and Andrea Lawton, and Ashley and Marie Lawton. Ben was the proud Pépé to Erin Lawton and Riley Lawton. He is survived by his sister-in-law Barbara Lawton and many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. Ben was predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, Eldon Lawton, Bev and Janet Lawton, Linda and John Uher, Dowie and Margie Lawton, and John Lawton. He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, Terry, and wife Evelyn Jubenville. The family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Ben to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
