Barbara WHITNEY

Barbara Whitney passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 74. She died peacefully with her sister by her side, following a battle with Multiple Myeloma. Barbara leaves behind her loving sister Brenda Whitney, her beloved niece Sarah Loucks, her beloved nephew Kenny Loucks, and her precious great-nephew Hudson. Barbara loved her family, friends, children, horses, dogs, and cats, and enjoyed activities such as horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and driving. She was a professional engineer, a teacher, and a lifelong learner who loved volunteering and sharing her knowledge. As per her wishes, Barbara has been cremated and a celebration of her life will take place in the spring. The family would like to thank Anne Marie Murphy and Dr. Gemmill for their excellent care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UHKF or to a charity of one's choice. Barbara requested that in her memory, people take a moment to stand in a field on a hot summer day, close their eyes, feel the sun on their face, hear the wildlife and livestock, and let the wind blow all their thoughts away, simply being in the moment.
