John Deering

John Deering of Cambridge, Ontario, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at the age of 68. He was the husband of the late Gale Deering and father to Michelle (Scott) and Marcy (Chris). His grandchildren were Corey (Becky), Mackenzie, and Nolan, and he was a great‑grandfather to Ty and Wes. He is survived by his brother George Deering (Nikki) and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. John built a reputation as a skilled auto body repairman, with work featured in Hot Rod magazine and still evident on his brother’s 1959 Ford Anglia. A back injury in his 50s ended his professional work, but his legacy in the automotive community endures. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Preston Legion on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., where friends and family may share stories and remember him.
