Michael David Wilhelmson

Michael Wilhelmson, beloved husband of Leanne Ross, passed away on June 15, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on March 27, 1964, in Fort William, now known as Thunder Bay, Michael grew up in Fenwick and later resided in the Vancouver area for over 25 years before relocating to Calgary in 2023. He pursued higher education, graduating from École Secondaire Confédération, and later earned degrees in journalism from Carleton and civil and common law from McGill. Michael practiced law for 32 years, establishing himself as a skilled and respected trial lawyer and appellate counsel. He is survived by his wife, Leanne Ross, children Julian, Morgan, Camille, Juliet, and Elizabeth, his mother Anita Pilon-Wilhelmson, sister Christianne Wilhelmson, and the mother of his three oldest children, Verena Cootes.
