Captain (Navy) (Retired) William H. "Captain Bill" Wilson

The family of Captain (Navy) (Retired) William H. "Captain Bill" Wilson announces his passing on July 27, 2026, at the age of 101. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Phyllis, her children Carrie-Lynn (Stephen) and Michael (Colleen), along with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia, and his sister, Janet, as well as stepson Kevin. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on November 5, 1924, Bill served Canada for over eight decades, enlisting in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve during World War II and retiring as a Captain after 52 years. His contributions included leadership roles in the Calgary Winter Olympics and the Naval Museum of Alberta. A Celebration of Life will take place at HMCS Tecumseh on August 10, 2026, at 2 p.m.
