Edward Clark (Ed/Ted) MCKAY
Edward Clark (Ed/Ted) McKay entered into rest peacefully and with dignity on June 14, 2026, at the age of 91, surrounded by his family at St. Peter's Hospital, Hamilton. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Shirley (2015), with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Ed was a loving Dad to Larry and Christine, Scott and Joanne, and Alison and Wayne Hodge. He was a proud Grandpa of Kirsten and Renzo, Braden, Blake and Rebecca, Cameron and Meredith, Kyle and Maleah, Darren, Shane, and also proud 'Old' Grandpa to Layla, Lorenzo, and Leo. Ed was a dear brother to Linda and Don Walters, and brother-in-law of Nancy McKay and Darlene Stephenson. He was predeceased by his brother, George McKay, and brothers-in-law, Jim, George, and Bill Stephenson. Ed will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends, including his dear friend and Masonic Brother, Randy Beckley. Ed's family would like to thank Dr. William Sulis for his years of dedication and home visits with their Dad, as well as Dr. Alan Taniguchi and the staff of St. Peter's 3 East for their exemplary care and compassion. Ed was passionate about the Masonic Order and a faithful Brother throughout Southern Ontario and beyond. He was a lifelong member of Riverside Lodge #862, Hillcrest #594, and St. Andrew's #62, and also a member of the Scottish Rite, having received an honorary 33rd degree. In 2009, Ed received the distinguished honour of being named a William Mercer Wilson Medal recipient. Friends are invited to call at Miller Funeral Chapel, 28 Caithness Street East, Caledonia, on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. A Masonic service will be held following the evening visitation, and all are welcome. The funeral service will be held at Miller Funeral Chapel on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Caledonia Cemetery and a reception at Grace United Church, Caledonia.
