William Lawrence McDERMOTT

William Lawrence McDERMOTT passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 80. He is survived by his children, Sean and Caroline Thake, and David. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew and Owen Thake, and his siblings, Edna McDermott, Glenn Clark, Gary Clark, and Kelly Neale. He was predeceased by his wife, Judith 'Judy' McDermott, his parents, Lawrence and Olive McDermott, his siblings, Patrick and Maureen McDermott, and his sister-in-law, Lorraine Clark. Visitation will be held at SMITHS FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, Burlington, on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, corner of Brant Street and Blairholm Avenue, Burlington, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A reception will follow at Smith's Funeral Home, 485 Brant St., Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
