Susan Sheryl GRUENWALD

Susan Sheryl Gruenwald passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the age of 80. She is now reunited with her husband, Walter, who predeceased her in 1991. Susan was the devoted mother of Marlena and dear sister of Joan and the late Wilfred. She will be fondly remembered by her niece Kelli and her husband Darrin, her nephew Tom and his wife Eve, her great-niece Amanda, and her great-nephew Derek and his wife Justine. Born in Hamilton to her biological parents Wilfred and Dorothy Pollard, she was lovingly adopted by Harry and Florence Simmons. Susan cherished the connections she was able to make with her birth family in her adult years. Susan's early years were spent heavily involved in the Dundas arts community, dancing at the Brant Inn, and, in her later years, serving with the Order of the Eastern Star. Susan was also a devoted animal lover. Visitation will be held at Smith's Funeral Home, 485 Brant Street, Burlington, on Saturday, March 21, from 12-1 p.m., where a Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel at 1 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
