Phyllis Mary (Mathews) DiTomaso

Phyllis Mary (Mathews) DiTomaso passed away peacefully at AgeCare Brant on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 95. She was the devoted and loving daughter and daughter-in-law of the late Joseph and Helen Mathews and Antonio and Maria DiTomaso. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Sam. She is cherished by her children, Sam and Susan, and Cynthia and Angelo Musitano. Phyllis was a loving grandmother of Joseph, Angela, Christine (Vince Bowker), James (Marissa), and great-grandmother of Sydney, Avery, Mila, Isla, and Luca. She is also survived by her siblings, including Tom (Mary), and Claire Poliziani (late Meco), as well as many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by her siblings, Josephine Zvonkin (Carl), John, Frances and Ralph Brown, Dolores and Cezar Jimenez, and Elaine and Robert Peddle. She will be missed by her sister-in-laws, including Nellie Bowker (late Hugh), Kay Urban (late Fred), and Rosemarie Bell (late Peter). Phyllis worked for many years as a bookkeeper and then owner of The Opal Shoppe ladies wear store for ten years. She received her BA from McMaster University at the age of 60. Phyllis was a past president of the Holy Rosary Church CWL and long-time parishioner of St. John the Baptist Parish Burlington. The family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff at AgeCare Brant for their kindness, compassion, and support. Visitation will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, Burlington, on Thursday, July 2nd from 3 - 5 and 6 - 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church, 2016 Blairholm Ave., Burlington on Friday, July 3rd at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to The Good Shepherd or Alzheimer Society Brant Halidmand Norfolk Hamilton Halton would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
