Paul Downey

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Downey of Burlington, Ontario, who departed this life on September 26, 2026, at the age of 90. Paul was born on February 28, 1936, and was predeceased by his parents, Jessie and Basil Downey, as well as his beloved wife, Marion. He is survived by his children, Terry (Judith), Pat, Lynda Jeffrey, and Laura Rideout (Jon), along with his grandchildren, Brianna (Scott), Brendon (Delanie), Basil (Chantelle), Jenna Lee (Marc), Kyle (Lorna), Sarah (Ron), Scott (Olivia), and Brett (Maddy), and his great-grandchild, Angela. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, followed by a celebration of life at 12:30 PM at Smith's Funeral Home, and a burial at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery. Paul was dedicated to his community, volunteering as a coach for youth hockey and football, and actively supporting local charities and St. Patrick's Church.
