Pamela Joy TERENCE (nee Selby)

Pamela Joy Terence (nee Selby) passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital on May 24, 2026, at the age of 96. She was the beloved wife of Terry (Peter) (2015), loving daughter of Bruce and Hilda Selby, and devoted sister to Wendy Charlton (2005). Pamela was a cherished aunt to David and Peter Charlton and a much-loved Great Aunty to Jade, Ciara, Thomas, Stanley, and Louis. Originally from England, Pamela was born in London and grew up in Newcastle Upon Tyne. She worked as a hairdresser in the family business and then in her own business with her sister. She emigrated to Canada in 1969, married, and became a Canadian citizen. Pamela worked for the cosmetics and haircare business L'Oreal before heading into a 20-year successful career teaching Hairdressing for Peel Districts School Board's vocational programme. She was a lifelong learner, earning a BA, BEd, and a Master of Education, and even in her retirement, she was a student at Gary Allan High School. Interment will take place at Bayview Cemetery- Scattering Garden on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2 p.m., followed by a reception at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pamela may be made to the ALS Society of Canada.
