Margaret Steedman TUREK

Margaret Steedman Turek passed away peacefully at her home on July 31, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loved ones, including her partner John Simpson and daughter Stephanie. Born on December 8, 1943, in Brantford, Ontario, Margaret was the daughter of the late Harold Steedman and May Steedman. She is survived by her daughters Stephanie Turek and Caroline, as well as her siblings Gordon Steedman and Janice Zimmerman. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Walter Turek. A dedicated educator, Margaret worked as a teacher, vice principal, and principal with the Halton Board of Education, inspiring students and colleagues with her leadership and passion for learning. She was also a long-time member of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario and enjoyed antiquing, running a booth at the Aberfoyle Market for 20 years. Margaret will be remembered by her family, including her nieces and nephews, and her friends, for her love of learning, her dedication to her community, and her passion for life.
