Margaret "Carole" Witts

Margaret 'Carole' Witts passed away peacefully at Margaret's Place Hospice in Dundas, Ontario on July 27, 2026, at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Lillian Hawthorne, her husband John Witts, her daughter Kristen Hill, her brother John 'Jack' Hawthorne, and her brother-in-law Brian Mooney. Carole will be remembered by her sister Sharon Mooney, her nephew and niece Paul and Micheline Mooney, her honorary grandchildren Savannah, Addie, Harlow, and Colton Green, her grandson Brennan Hill, her great-grandson Declen, and her friends Jackie Bell and Maryke van Gendt. A dedicated mother and pet owner, Carole was a steady presence for her family and friends. She was a fiercely independent and generous person who lived a full life. Family and friends are invited to gather at Smith's Funeral Home in Burlington on August 5, 2026, for a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Diabetes Canada are appreciated.
