John Bernhart Finstad

John Bernhart Finstad, born February 6, 1933, in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Ontario, passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 93. John spent his early years in Port Arthur before moving to Hamilton and later settling in Burlington. He devoted his entire working career to Stelco's Hilton Works. John is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois (née Gerry); his children, Mark (Mary), Krista (Vincent Milion), Margot (Eric Plamondon), and Eric (Sophie Vincent); his sister, Sonja Townson; sister-in-law, Lynn Gerry; and brother-in-law, David Gerry (Judy). He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Robert Gerry. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Silvère (Inna), Lothaire (Ana), Thorvald (Mathilde), Warner (Ciobha), Alexandra (Jordi), Lara (Philippe), Luc, Anaïs, and Maélie, as well as five great-grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, BURLINGTON.
