Jette Toft (née Sorensen) HELM

Jette Toft Helm, née Sorensen, passed away on June 11, 2026, at the age of 82. She was predeceased by her spouse, Gord Layhew, in 2020, after a 36-year partnership, as well as her parents, Knud and Elisabet Sorensen, and her stepfather, Gerrit Smoor. Jette is survived by her brothers, Ole Sorensen of Ottawa and Hugo Sorensen and his wife Megan of Caledon, as well as her nephews and nieces, Christian, Kai, Will, Cody, and Catherine, and her extended family, including nieces Stephanie Allardyce and Jennifer Layhew, both of Ottawa. Jette had a 50-year career with the CIBC, working in various locations and departments, and enjoyed travelling extensively throughout the world. Following cremation, Jette's wishes for no visitation or memorial service will be respected. Arrangements have been entrusted to SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME in BURLINGTON.
