Gladys Marilyn Huffman

Gladys Marilyn Huffman passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on May 8, 1935, to Stewart and Gladys (Mulligan) Devereux, Gladys was the youngest of six children. She met her husband George Huffman while working at the Brantford Expositor and they married in 1956. Together, they had two daughters, Karen and Kimberley, and lived in the Niagara region for many years. Gladys was a trailblazer in local politics, serving as the first female mayor of the Town of Lincoln in 1978. She continued to be involved in her community through various volunteer roles and remained an active member of the Liberal Laurier Club of St. Catharines. Gladys is survived by her daughters Karen and Kim, their husbands, and five grandchildren. She will be remembered for her dedication to public service and her commitment to her community.
