George Vastis

George Vastis passed away on April 15, 2026, at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, at the age of 84. He was surrounded by the love of his devoted wife of 34 years, Helen, who will miss him beyond what words can describe. George was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and godfather. His family was the center of his life and the source of his greatest pride and joy. He is survived by his children, Helen Pavlopoulos, Effie Vastis, Bill Vastis, Dr. Vasilia Vastis, and Dr. Peter-George Vastis; his grandchildren, Billy, Rea, Dean, Samantha, Angelo, Victoria, Angela, and Patricia; and his great-grandson, James. George was predeceased by his sons-in-law, George Pavlopoulos and Jimmy Dimou; his sister-in-law, Dr. Stella Psarakis; and brother-in-law, Kostantinos Kandilas. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Peter and Nick; his nephew, Billy; and his niece, Constantina. George is survived by his brother, Gus Vastis; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Katina and Spiros Paleologos; and many loving nieces and nephews.
