Hugo Hoogenraad

Hugo Hoogenraad of Brockville, Ontario, passed away on September 17, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on December 17, 1943, he was a cherished member of his family and community. Hugo was predeceased by his parents, Gerrit and Arie; his former wife, Gloria; his brother, Arie; and his sister-in-law, Tina Kooistra. He is survived by his wife, Rena; his sons, Matthew (Nancy), Thomas, and Alan (Melissa); and his grandchildren, Kyle, Lauren, Mitchell, Nicholas, and Keegan (Rena). He also leaves behind his siblings, Gerrit (Rhonda) and Hilda; siblings-in-law, Maureen and Bill Wheeler (Gail); stepchildren, Mark VanderMey (Alishia), Dawn Edgley (Steve), and Tim VanderMey (Carrie); and stepgrandchildren, Andrew, Sebastian (Emily), Lillian VanderMey, Ava (Zane), Christian Edgley, Damion Sharpe, Cole VanderMey, Emma Meadows (Teagan), and Kale VanderMey, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, located at 4 James St E, Brockville, ON K6V1J9. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 117 Windsor Dr, Brockville, ON K6V3H7. In memory of Hugo, donations to the Brockville & District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated.
