Laurie Ross Haney

Laurie Ross Haney passed away on August 22, 2026 at Brantford General Hospital. He was the husband of Diane (née Davis) for 53 years and the father of Jennifer (Duncan) Routledge, Ian (Shannon) Haney and Caroline (Neil) Howard. He is survived by his grandchildren Liam Routledge, Lillian and Colin Howard, Benjamin and Grace Haney. Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Grace, his brothers Wallace and Howard, his sister Joan, and he was the beloved brother of Iris Farabow. Laurie retired after 33 years as an Inspector with the Brantford Police Service, served as past president of the Children’s Aid Society of Brant, sat on several community committees, earned his commercial pilot’s licence in 1972 at Brantford Airport where he met his wife, and served in the Canadian Reserve Artillery. Visitation will be held at Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel.
