John Richard Usher (Ric "The Colonel")

John Richard Usher, also known as Ric 'The Colonel', passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on May 23, 2026, in his 80th year. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marlin, in 2024. Ric is survived by his children, Jennifer and Chris Foster, Kandice and Peter Vansickle, and Brent and Tracey Usher. He was a much-loved 'Gpa' to Andrew, Kaitlyn and her husband Giordan, Alex and his wife Vanessa, Emily, Matthew, Samuel, and Claire. Ric was also a beloved brother of Barb Leskew and brother-in-law to Mel and Judy Kennedy, Craig and Cyndi Kennedy, and Toni and Len Ellins. He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Georgina Usher, and his in-laws, Sam and Rose Kennedy. Ric was a special friend to Marlene Graham. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with sharing of memories at 7:00 pm at the Brantford Golf and Country Club, located at 60 Ava Road.
