John JONKMAN

John Jonkman, 89, of Oakland, Ontario, passed away on June 10, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Vera (nee Trembley) for 63 years. John was the loving father to his daughters Christine (Andy) and her late husband, Richard Koppers, and Amy (Rob) Logan. He was a proud Opa to Aaron, Paige, Eric, Ryan, Austin, Alex, and Spencer, and Great Opa to 9 great-grandchildren, Grant, Sawyer, Vera, Henry, Lindsay, Sullivan, James, Wesley, and Walter, as well as many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Albert and Wilhemina, and sister Rika (Joe) Ansara. Born in Alkmar, Holland, on March 4, 1937, John came to Canada with his family at the age of 14. At his request, cremation has taken place, and there will not be a formal service. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, you do an act of kindness for your neighbour. Arrangements were entrusted to the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford.
