James Robert "Jamie" O'NEAIL
James Robert "Jamie" O'Neail passed away in Brantford, Ontario, on August 12, 2026, at the age of 73. He was the son of the late Thomas (deceased 2005) and Therese (deceased 2002) O'Neail. Jamie is survived by his sisters and brothers Kathryn (married to Ed) Davis, Eugene (married to Jody), Tari, Michael, Patricia (married to Mark) Oreskovich, Tom (married to Lisa), and Tim (married to Christine). He was predeceased by his sister Peggy, who died in 1972. Jamie was a devoted uncle to Bryan (married to Meredith), Trevor (married to Joann), Kevin (married to Erin), Casey (married to Hannah), Cori (married to Patrick), Mark (married to Tina), Dilan, Andrew, Meghan, Emily, and Matthew, and a great‑uncle to Colleen, Kathryn, Taylyn, Quinn, Brennan, Sloane, Lily, Emma, Tessa, Connor, and Annie. He spent his career with Carborundum Abrasives in Plattsville, Ontario, and enjoyed sports, Michener novels, and strong‑tasting beer. Jamie cherished time with family, friends, and his dogs, especially Solstice and Bear, often walking community trails. Visitation will be held at Thorpe Bros. Funeral Home, 96 West Street, Brantford, on Saturday, August 22, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel. He will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Paris. The family requests donations to the SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice.
