George Robert (Bob) Strople

George Robert (Bob) Strople passed away on May 22, 2026, in his 96th year, at the age of 95. He was born in Port Dover to Everett and Nellie Strople, and was predeceased by his siblings Jack, Clarence, and Marie. He is survived by his children Michael (Carolyn) Strople and Michelle (Mike) Zimic; his grandchildren Alex, Hudson, Nigel, Brielle, and Naomi; his sister Laurel Sherlock; and many nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves behind Elsie, with whom he shared 60 years of history and raised a family together. In his later years, Bob lived with his partner Colin, who will miss him greatly. Bob dedicated over 30 years to teaching with the Brant County School Board, spending most of his career at B.C.I.V.S. He was a man of faith and a member of St. Mark's Anglican Church. He was also a freemason and a member of Erie Lodge for 74 years. Visitation will be held at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Rd N, Brantford, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 155 Memorial Dr, Brantford, on Thursday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Port Dover Cemetery.
