Edward George Hunter passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, with his daughter by his side. He was born, raised, and worked on the family dairy farm on Hunter Road, Troy, until 1986, when his family moved to St. George, where he opened Ed's Antiques. Edward spent many happy years as Greenskeeper and President of the St. George Lawn Bowling Club and dedicated his spare time to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 605, St. George, as President. He is survived by his wife Katherine, cherished children Michael, Scott, Tamara, and grandchildren Jesse, Cole, Braeden, Ella Rae. He is also survived by his sister Vera, sisters-in-law Mary, Marlene, and many loving nieces and nephews, as well as the Mills family in-laws. Edward was predeceased by his parents Howard and Merle, brothers Jim, Bob, sister Rosie, brothers-in-law Mark and Ken, and parents-in-law Ken and Trudy. Family and friends will be received at the McCleister Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Troy Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Stedman Community Hospice, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 605, St. George, or charity of choice are gratefully appreciated.
