Derek ABBOTT

Derek Abbott passed away peacefully at the Stedman Hospice, surrounded by family and his partner Alice Chisholm, on December 25, 2025, at the age of 82. He was reunited with his wife Merren, who died in 2016. Derek is survived by his children Kevin, married to Gina, Karin, married to Dave, and Julie. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jessica, Kiersten, Cheryl, Jamie Lee, Jason, Josh, and Alec, as well as 15 great-grandchildren. Derek is further survived by his sister Jean, brothers Johny and Gary, and sister-in-law Bambi. He was predeceased by his parents Eileen and Hesekiah, and sister Doreen. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre.
