Adele Rey passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre, Brantford, on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the age of 95. She was the loving mother of Mary Lou Rey and Allan Rey (Beth), and dear sister of Hermine Exler. Adele was predeceased by her sisters Maria Klang and Erna Bouman. She was a much-loved grandmother of Paul (Lisa), Alexander (Janelle), Lyndon (Julia), and Victoria (Adam), and great-grandmother of Julian, Audrey, and Cameron. Born in Bernstein, Austria, Adele immigrated to England and then to Canada after WWII, building a life in Sarnia, Ontario, focused on her family. After her children were grown, she worked for many years leading the Ministry with Older Persons at Central United Church in Sarnia, retiring in December 1999. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre for their care and attention. Family and friends will be received at Fairview United Church, 49 Wayne Drive, Brantford, on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., immediately followed by a Celebration of Life in the Sanctuary. A reception will follow. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial donations to St. Joseph's Lifecare Foundation, Brantford, Dunlop Central United Church, Sarnia, or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
