Michael AVIS
Michael Avis passed away on March 27, 2024, at Bethell Hospice, in Caledon, in the arms of his beloved wife of 50 years, Jane. He was a well-known and recognized figure in Brampton for his volunteering achievements and passion for the city's heritage, particularly in establishing Historic Bovaird House as a living museum. Michael received numerous awards for his tireless volunteering, including the Governor General Heritage Award in 2012 and the Brampton Citizen of the Year Award in 2019. As a brilliant Piano Technician for over 63 years, he was respected by his customers for his integrity, honesty, and expertise. Michael enjoyed life with his loving wife, Jane, and loved his home, garden, cat, Lily, the Argos, and his many cherished friends. He will be remembered as a great gentleman and will be loved forever by his wife, Jane, and those who knew him. A celebration to honour Michael will be held at a later date.
