Maria Louisa RUTTE

Maria Louisa Rutte passed away on October 10, 2023, at the age of 99. She was a loving mother to Imelda, Simone (Rick) and Marieka (Rick). A proud and caring oma to six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She volunteered for more than 25 years at Holland Christian Home, where she assisted with the Monday morning Catholic service. She loved gardening and enjoyed sewing and knitting. She always loved spending time with family and friends. Her home was always open to her relatives visiting Canada from Holland. She was predeceased by her loving husband Henk (1989), and by sisters Rose (2002) and Fia (2023) in Holland. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Shirley Kellam (retired) and Dr. Jane Nixon for their care of her over the years and also to Aashmi and Selina for their care and compassion in her final days. Visitation will be held at the Ward Funeral Home (Brampton Chapel) on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held from St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:30 a.m.
