LARRY OLIVER GIBSON
Larry Oliver Gibson passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, at the age of 91. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his many friends and family. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marjorie, and their children, Steven and Jo-Ann. He was the only child to his parents, Harold Gibson and Violet Jennings. Born and raised in Brampton, Larry spent his entire life in the city, watching it grow from a small town to a large city. He was a devoted son, always there to help his parents as they grew older. Larry met Marjorie, a school teacher, at a dance in Sauble Beach, Ontario, and they were married on July 27, 1963. They shared many fond memories of Sauble Beach as cottage owners, where they enjoyed spending time with family and friends for over 60 years. Larry was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying playing, coaching, managing, or serving on the executive of many sports, including lacrosse, golf, lawn bowling, and curling. He was a lifetime member of the Brampton Excelsior teams and helped coach or manage several champion teams. After retiring from Ontario Hydro as a chemical technician, Larry devoted his time to researching his family and military history, learning to use a computer, and collecting coins, stamps, and baseball cards. He enjoyed travelling with friends and family across Canada, the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean, as well as local day trips with the Brampton Seniors groups. Private services will be held.
