James (Jim) Alfred Arthur GOUGEON
James (Jim) Alfred Arthur Gougeon passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, at Brampton Civic Hospital at the age of 93. He was predeceased by his wife Lorna (nee Moffatt) in 2021, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. Jim will be missed by his children: Lynda Voegtle (John, deceased), Roger (Joanne), Karen (Dave Burt), Penny Welsh (Brian), Perry (Toni), Sandra Klazer (Dan), and Darryl (Joan). He will be fondly remembered by his twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Jim had a long and successful career in Brampton as a carpenter and builder. He was a founding and active member of the Brampton Musical Society and enjoyed various activities including square dancing, church events, Probus, euchre, and billiards. Jim and his late wife Lorna were active members of St. Paul's United Church, where Jim was a choir member for 67 years. Family and friends will be received at St. Paul's United Church in Brampton on Wednesday, June 26, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00. Following a light lunch, interment will be at Dixon Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates gifts to St. Paul's United Church, Brampton, and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
