Florence Peace (nee Harbron) KRISTJANSON
Florence Peace Kristjanson (nee Harbron) passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at the age of 94. Born in Toronto on January 3, 1931, to Tom and Sara Lillian Peace Harbron, she began her lifelong commitment to health care and community at a young age. Florence graduated from the University of Toronto in Physical and Occupational Therapy in 1953 and went on to have a distinguished career as a Senior Physiotherapist at various hospitals, including Sunnybrook, Newmarket, and Runnymede. She also worked as the Director of Physical Medicine at Peel Memorial Hospital in Brampton, starting in 1968. Throughout her career, Florence was a strong advocate for physiotherapy and community, conducting training programs, initiating private physio access programs, and lecturing at Sheridan College. She obtained her degree in hospital administration in 1981 and became a Certified Health Executive in 1994. Florence played a pivotal role in pioneering the patient relations process at Peel Memorial Hospital, becoming one of the first hospital-based patient ombudsmen in Ontario in 1986.
