Age 86
Bradford, Ontario
Taylor Funeral Home

Giuseppe 'Peppino' Pepe, colloquially known to many as 'Joe, the barber', passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elaine, and two sons, Giovanni (Heather), and Marco (Stephanie). Born on November 17, 1938, in Campochiaro, a small village in the province of Molise, Italy, Joe grew up on a farm with his parents, Giovanni and Filomena, who instilled in him the importance of family, hard work, and generosity. These qualities were further solidified in his character when he left school at a young age to help support his family through the post-war depression. As an adult, Joe immigrated to Toronto, where he joined various members of his extended family, to establish a new life. He eventually made his way to Aurora, where he built a business, Aurora Hair Design, which became a pillar of the community. The business was successful for over 30 years before he retired, having received an award for his years of dedication by the Aurora Chamber of Commerce. Joe was a family man who met his wife Elaine in Toronto and married her in 1984. He was an extremely generous father, with an 'old school' touch, who loved unconditionally and did everything possible to support the people around him. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home on Davis Drive in Newmarket, immediately followed by a funeral service.
