Kenneth Edwin Smith, born on August 11, 1933, in Digby, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the age of 92, at The Pines Long-Term Care in Bracebridge, Ontario. He was born to parents Oakley and Hazel Smith of Smith’s Cove. Ken was a proud Mason and an active member of his community. He spent his early working years in Sudbury, where he worked in the nickel mines and at the local jail, and later moved to Bracebridge, where he served with dedication at Beaver Creek Correctional Facility for 25 years. He also served as President of the Bracebridge Bears Junior C hockey team from 1970 to 1982. Ken shared 73 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Crystal Annabelle Smith. He is survived by his children Greg, Janice, Monty, and Rod; his grandchildren Allan, Jared, Jennifer, Emmet, Brittany, and Rachael; and his great-grandchildren Savannah, Carson, Gregory, Brooklyn, Oliver, Ronan, Connor, Oakley, Maeve, and Autumn.
