June Georgina (née Wilson) Buchanan

June Georgina Buchanan (née Wilson) passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 91, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Born on June 4, 1934, in Merlin, ON, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Alma (née Thibeault) Wilson. June was the beloved wife and friend of 52 years to the late Edward Buchanan. She was the devoted mother of Tom Buchanan (Lisa Vanderheyde) of Chatham, Doug Buchanan of Blenheim, and Susan (Dave) Freeman of Tecumseh. She was a proud grandmother of Brad (Lindy) Buchanan, Erin Mogg (Paul Henry), Marissa (Al) Schepens, Brett (Jacquie) Buchanan, and Ryan (Jennifer) Freeman, and great-grandmother to Avia Buchanan, James and Benjamin Mogg, Ainsley and Jordan Schepens, and Max and Myla Buchanan. She will be remembered by her sister-in-law, Shirley Wilson, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Wilson and sisters Jean (Keith) Poehlman-(Roy) Pelfrey and Joan (Richard) Foster, and sister-in-law of George (Donna) Buchanan. June retired from Dover Corporation after many years. Cremation has taken place, and as per June's wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations made in memory of June to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
