Valerie Hetu

Valerie Hetu of Belleville, Ontario, passed away on July 29, 2026, at the age of 74. She was born on December 11, 1951. Predeceased by her parents, Alvin and Geraldine Smith, and by her sisters Marlene Thrasher (late Ted) and Shirley Wilson (late Terry), she is survived by her husband Marcel Hetu, her daughter Amanda Coles (married to Eric), her grandchildren Charlie and Cassii, and her sisters Freddine Horn (late Darrell) and Beth Smith (married to Dick). Visitation was held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rushnell Funeral Homes, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville, ON. A funeral service took place on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, followed by burial at Belleville Cemetery, 631 Dundas Street West. The family requests donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
