Richard Edward Abbott (Dick)

Richard Edward Abbott, 91, of Belleville, Ontario, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, at Belleville General Hospital. Born on March 11, 1933, in Toronto, Ontario, to Arthur Roosevelt Abbott and Edith May Abbott (nee Ludlow), Richard served with the Royal Canadian Artillery in the UK for the Coronation events of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. He married Eva Else Emma Pfeifer on July 23, 1954, and they had two sons, Peter Douglas and Christopher Michael. Richard worked at various organizations, including the Toronto Transit Commission, Ontario Hydro, and the Alliston Police Department, before retiring from his own home repair and renovation firm, Wes-Tec Services. He is survived by his wife, Eva; sons, Peter and Christopher; grandchildren, Nicole and David; and great-grandchildren, Everett, Colin, and Rowan. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Edith, and his younger siblings, Michal Jacqueline Dyett and Arthur Paul Abbott. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation. Scattering of the ashes will occur at a future date, yet to be determined.
